Q: How long does the stain last in your lips?

  • A: It doesn't last very long. Any amount of eating or drinking fades it unevenly and it looks bad. Use it to experiment with colors but don't use ELF as your main lip stain.

    Better as a lip gloss

    Cute little mini packaging. It takes several applications in order to get a smooth application. Works best on a slightly moisturized lip which means that the color may not stay as long. It does transfer. Overall as a stain it is not the best but works great as a colored lip gloss

    Absolutely Love!

    It's a really nice stain! I've added before and after pictures with 4 hours of indoor work (and eating and drinking) in between. It's not perfect, but it lasts well for a gloss, and it keeps my lips from looking cracked or dry. Definitely a huge fan! Will be buying again, and only gave it four stars because of the good-but-not-great wear time.

    A swing and a miss Elf!

    I love e.l.f. and have had great experiences with many of their products, but this Glossy Lip Stain is a complete miss. First, it’s not glossy. Second, it doesn’t stain. The color payoff is nothing like the swatch shown online or on the packaging, so what you see is definitely not what you get. To make matters worse, it feels like there’s barely any product in the container. After a few uses, it seemed nearly empty, which is incredibly disappointing. The entire concept of this product is a glossy stain, and unfortunately it fails at both. I rarely leave negative reviews, especially for a brand I genuinely enjoy, but this one needs serious reformulation. Either fix it or discontinue it, because this isn’t it.

    Best dupe for Kulfi!

    I was in love with the Kulfi lip stains until I found this which is just as good and less than half the price! These go on so smooth and creamy and the stain doesn’t dry out my lips! Basic beige is my every day lip color and rose rizzin for special occasions!

    Flattering and comfortable

    I bought Rose Rizzin', Basically Beige and Polished Peach, I really like them all. Rose Rizzin' is the most flattering lip colour I've ever worn. I'm mid 40's and this is a beautiful your-lips-but-bettercolour. Basic Beige is still natural but redder, Polished Peach is a more obvious summery colour but still pretty. All leave behind a nice stain that looks good if you add balm a couple of hours later. Unlike a lot of products like this, these feel really comfortable and don't dry my lips out. Non sticky and balmy feel. Really impressed.
