Q: The TECHEF (website) Hinged omelette pan says it is nontoxic, Free of PFAS, Lead and Cadmium; but the Target website says the opposite. Why?

  • A: The TECHEF Hinged Omelette Pan is 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐅𝐎𝐀, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐏𝐅𝐀𝐒 — there’s an important difference between the two. PFOA (Perfluorooctanoic acid) is a specific chemical that was once used in older nonstick coatings but has been eliminated from TECHEF products for many years. PFAS, on the other hand, is a broader category that includes many substances, not all of which are related to cookware. We can confirm that all TECHEF nonstick coatings are PFOA-free, Lead-free, and Cadmium-free, and meet all U.S. safety standards.

TECHEF Italian Frittata and Omelette Pan

Meets my needs for great omelettes. It's nonstick, it cleans up easily, and I love that it's PFOA, lead and cadmium free. Well priced too, and it came with a Teflon pad for the handle to make opening it easy. It seems well made and durable. I love it.

Best omelet pan!

Absolutely love this pan. I use it a few times a week and omelettes come out perfect, and I also use it for frying eggs; I like mine over easy and my husband likes scrambled, so I can make both at once using the two sides.

Not quite proficient at flipping the pan without spilling so

Flipping without losing some raw egg over the edge is a skill I have not picked up yet. Even so, it beats my old routine of using a small skillet and a dinner plate to turn the omelette, which wasted egg anyway.

this is the best purchase ive made in a while for cooking

One gripe and that is the whole list. Egg works its way into the little notches inside the pan and stays put sometimes. Otherwise this is the best thing I have bought for my kitchen in ages.

Best Pan I've Ever Owned

Gone through about eight inexpensive HomeGoods pans over the past two or three years, using them only to cook egg whites, since I have an egg yolk allergy. Finding a pan where egg whites don't stick has been surprisingly difficult, probably because there's little or no fat involved, and I've tried multiple pans with different oils and sprays and nothing worked consistently until this one. It's outstanding. The egg whites didn't stick at all, not even slightly, and cleanup was effortless; see the photo of the pan after cooking and before washing, because the surface wiped clean instantly. It's absolutely worth spending a bit more than a discount store option, since in the long run it saves both time and money. I only wish I'd bought it sooner.
