Recommend trying a different set
Racks are too short. Barely fits 13 tiles without room to space them at all. Will now purchase different racks making overall cost of this set from Target not what I wanted to spend for a usable set. Tiles are so-so quality; can see internal molding through the back of the tile.

Love many things about this set including the case, mat and colorful tiles. But sadly I am returning it as the racks are too short to hold 13 tiles and the seeming color coding of suits and corresponding dragons is confusing (ie they are not color coded the same across the suit/dragon). You can probably adjust to tile color situation over time but you will need to buy new longer racks.

Totally unplayable. The racks are too short to hold all of the tiles and the tiles themselves have a dirty look as if a malfunction in the production line. How this got through Target Quality control is nuts.

Racks are unusable
I was so upset to find that the racks for this mahjong set are too short to be used! This was false advertising because the set was sold with the assumption that the racks would be useable- they are not since not all the tiles can even fit on it nor can they be all pushed by the pusher. I’m furious!

I was so excited for this set. Its a great size for travel. But you can not fit 14 tiles on the rack which you need to do to expose a winning hand. Also the East player starts with 14 tiles and there is no way to squeeze that last tile on the rack. You also can not use the pushers for 19 tiles. This seems like a manufacturing error. Bummer

I wanted to love this set, but the bams are painted red/orange and the craks are blue/green, making the dragons pair incorrectly and causing confusion for players throughout the game. The racks are also too short!

Racks too short
This is a great set for the value, however, if you purchase this set, you will need to plan to also purchase additional racks from online or another store. The racks in this set are way too short. Rather frustrating since it’s $100 set. I really hope target fixes this or refunds people for the racks a they are unusable for proper game play. A crazy oversight for such a popular game.

Racks in this set too short and not useable gor american Mahjong!
I just purchased this Mahjong set today and it’s really pretty. I’m new to Mahjong but I immediately noticed that you cannot put 14 tiles on the racks as they are too short, Therefore now that I’ve bought this I actually have to go buy additional racks. Therefore only three stars from this very disappointed customer.

Decent starter set
I think it’s a great starter set. It has everything you need — tiles, mat, racks. If you’re playing American mahjong you’ll need to get the American Mahjong League cards separate. The colors of the tiles are cute — dots are pink/blue, bams are orange/yellow, and cracks are green/blue. I do wish they switched bam and crack color to be more consistent because the crack dragon is red… but crack tile is green/blue. The dragons also have glitter (which I don’t love). And the racks JUST BARELY fit the 13 tiles. Not much room to move your tiles around in the rack. We ended up ordering a different set of racks which were longer. Great starter set, but I’m excited to get a fun new set soon!

I was so excited to see an affordable compete set available finally! I really wanted to love this, but the tiles just weren’t done well. Bams are red and craks are green and the corresponding dragons were really confusing. The racks are also super short. I returned mine but I’m hopeful that target will realize the mistakes in the tiles and make a new one.

Unusable - Target needs to discontinue
This set is actually unusable. The racks/pushers are too short to hold either a mahjong or to push the wall. You can see in my picture that a 19-tile wall hangs out so far that you can’t curtsey. The rack also only holds 13 tiles with NO room, so not only are you unable to have any space between pungs/kongs/etc for organization, you can’t even expose an entire mahjong.
