  • A: Polypropylene is a type of plastic. Melitta Cone filters are made from paper, no polyproplenes are added.

Our cone filters are FSC and BPI certified, and no plastics are used or intentionally added during production.   • A: No machine needed! These predate the machines. Just aim the water to the center or one side of the paper may fall inward (just move it back). Wet the grounds with a little water then pour the rest in.

For the best fit and brewing performance, we recommend using Chemex-specific filters when available, as they are designed specifically for the Chemex brewer.

  • A: Thank you for your question! Yes, Melitta® #4 cone coffee filters can be used in most Technivorm Moccamaster brewers. Our #4 filters are the same shape and size required for the majority of Moccamaster 8–10 cup models, so they should fit and perform well. As always, for the best brewing results we recommend confirming your brewer’s filter size in its user manual, but Melitta #4 cone filters are a compatible choice for most models. If you have any other questions or need help finding the right filter, we’re happy to help!

The perfect fitler for the perfect cup

I prefer using a natural filter over a bleached white filter. It works well. And it does *not* have a "paper" taste. After you're done brewing, you can throw the used ground and filter together into a bin for composting.
