However, it is also possible that the battery is working correctly, but depletes more quickly when the volume is very loud and/or the bass has been boosted. Please try to charge the battery to 100% and then listen to music without any bass boosted, and at a very low volume. If the battery lasts close to the published up-to-playtime, the battery is working fine. However, if you get less than 90% of the published spec, this likely means that the battery is losing its capacity. Please contact us for further assistance at (800) 336-4525.

Doesn’t hold charge

This speaker isn’t great :( I’ll charge it to full charge and it dies the next day. I only ever really use it in the shower. I’ve had it for 2 months now. I’ve had other JBL speakers & this is the worst one I’ve ever had. I like the size though, and my design came out cute. Really bad use time though.

Play music at a low volume with no bass boost. If the playtime is close to the published spec, the battery is fine. If it is less than 90% of the rated time, the battery may be losing capacity. Extremely disappointing experience with JBL GO 4 and the after-sales support. I purchased the JBL GO 4 for around ₹3,800, trusting JBL’s reputation for quality and durability. Unfortunately, within just a few months of normal use, the outer material started peeling on its own. I contacted JBL and was asked to get the speaker physically inspected at an authorised service centre. I did exactly that, but the issue was simply classified as “outer material damage” and rejected under warranty. I understand that normal wear and tear may not be covered under warranty. However, when a ₹4,800 speaker starts peeling within a few months under normal use, I believe it deserves to be looked at as a potential premature material/build-quality issue, rather than being dismissed outright. What is even more disappointing is that after investing in a premium brand, I expected JBL to stand behind its product and genuinely address the concern. JBL, customers spend extra on a brand because they trust its quality. If the product starts deteriorating within months, the least we expect is a fair assessment and a reasonable resolution.

Great little speaker!

This is the 2nd one of these little speakers I’ve bought now. Absolutely love them and you can’t knock the sound for such a small thing. Everyone should have one to use anywhere you go. Fantastic!

So far so good

I've only had it a couple of weeks, but the sound is great. The Bluetooth connection has dropped a couple of times so far (something that never happens with my other speaker) but I'm hoping they were flukes and won't happen moving forward.

Horrible speaker - do not buy

DO NOT BUY THIS! Worst speaker I’ve ever gotten. Despite being charged it turns off repeatedly (roughly 6 times in a 30 mins time span). It then has to be turned back on and then will play until the next time it decides to shut itself off mid song. Unfortunately I threw away the packaging so I can’t return it.

Thank you for your feedback with our JBL Go 4. It has a published up-to playtime of up to 7 hours which is the maximum battery time you will get when listening at background levels. As you turn up the volume, the playtime will be reduced, much like a phone battery when you brighten the screen. The same goes for source material. Music with more bass will also reduce playtime. It is possible that the battery is working correctly, but depletes more quickly when the volume is very loud and/or the bass has been boosted. Battery playtime also decreases as the battery ages and all batteries, over time, will slowly wear down. Please charge the battery to 100% and then listen to music without any bass boosted, and at a very low volume. If the battery lasts close to the published up-to playtime, the battery is working fine. Initiate a power cycle by pressing and holding the power button for 30 seconds while it is unplugged from a power source. Use a different charging cable/power adapter. Also, while it's uncommon, try a different wall outlet to be certain the issue is not with the outlet. Lastly, sand and dirt can get into the product's charging port.
