A: It means they are recyclable if not food soiled… plenty of situations that might happen like if used as art supplies or only dry foods. Glad they are labeled recyclable and commercially compostable so I can use my own brain to send them into the appropriate and best waste stream when done using.

A: Glossy, yes. Package says recyclable, and "commercially compostible only". Bought these thinking they weren't waxed and I could compost them in my back yard.

A: Mostly for marketing purposes. I don't think it's smart at all to put ink on a surface you eat from. Especially since hot food will dissolve it.
