  • A: All current Crest formulations have 0.243 wt/wt % Sodium Fluoride. The differences of wt/vol % listed on the label for the fluoride ion comes from the conversion calculation which takes into account the different densities (the amount of weight of toothpaste per unit volume) of our formulations. We list by wt/vol % for regulatory reasons. Sodium fluoride protects against cavities. CPC helps to fight plaque and gingivitis, and also kills bacteria in the mouth.

OMG Crest. What did you do?

You had a really great product that I used regularly. Then you messed with success. This "new formula" burns my mouth and tongue. I could deal with a minute or two of discomfort, but my tongue burns for nearly a half hour. Totally unusable, especially before bedtime. Fortunately, I found two store brands with the same active ingredient that work like your old Clean Mint. Sorry to say goodbye, but you lost another customer.

Crest 6-in-1 mouthwash

This stuff will burn your mouth. Be careful of potential gum lost because of stinging and burning. It is very very strong, not like the other Crest mouthwashes.

Cooling sensation is an issue.

One of the most impactful changes to the product is the use of the chemical that creates the cooling sensation in your mouth. It lasts way too long, and this negatively impacts my appetite and also my desire to drink water. This is really a problem as I live in the desert and not becoming dehydrated is a top priority. I switched to Crest because of a similar change the L brand made, and I'm shopping for a new brand again.
