High-Back to Backless Booster: Designed to Grow

The KidFit® ClearTex® Plus Booster is designed with 10 positions of DuoGuard® protection, plus quick-release LATCH for easy removal and no flame retardant chemicals. The easy-adjust headrest ensures proper belt positioning and integrated side wings offer two layers of protection for the head & torso with a rigid shell and EPS energy-absorbing foam.

Secure Attachment PLUS Quick Removal

The KidFit® ClearTex® Plus is equipped with premium LATCH connectors and a SuperCinch® one-pull tightener to stabilize the seat and keep it secured when unoccupied. The quick-release LATCH provides convenient, one-hand removal for easy transfer between seats or vehicles.

Built for Comfort

The contoured ErgoBoost® seat with double foam padding provides comfort and support in all the right places, and a 2-position backrest adjusts to mimic the vehicle seat position. The backrest is also removable to create a backless booster for older children.

ClearTex® products meet federal car safety flammability standards without flame retardant chemical treatments. GREENGUARD Gold Certified, the KidFit® ClearTex® Plus has been tested for low chemical emissions, contributing to healthier air quality.

For additional parent convenience, all fabrics, including armrest covers, are removable and machine washable. Two dishwasher-safe CupFolders™ are easy to remove for cleaning and fold in to save space when not in use.

Q: Is there a way to stop this seat from tipping over every time I make a turn? I have it latched on both sides but when my son is using it, every turn of the vehicle is like a rollercoaster to him.

A: 7-7-2025: According to the installation directions: "the top tether anchor is not used with this booster seat". Haven't tried it myself but maybe the OP drives like a maniac!

Q: Isofix points for car seat laches are not available in my car. Can I use this car seat without the latches?

A: The latches on the KidFit booster seat are not required for use. They do keep the car seat in the vehicle seating position when the car seat is unoccupied. We recommend buckling the vehicle seat belt over the car seat when it is unoccupied so the car seat does not slide across the vehicle seat.

Q: How do I turn this into a backless booster

A: The KidFit® ClearTex Plus Booster Car Seat is for children who are at least 4 years of age, between 44-57" tall, between 40-100 lbs. in high-back mode and 40-110 lbs. in backless mode and can sit relatively still in the same seated position throughout the car ride. To remove the Backrest, turn the seat over and press down on the Backrest Connection Release at the base of the seat back under the seat bar. At the same time rotate the seat back (A) and remove Backrest from the Booster Seat bottom (B). Tuck the Fabric Panel between the fabric cover and the seat surface. Please refer to pages 46-49 in the product manual showing these instructions with diagrams. For additional assistance please contact our customer service department by phone at 1-877-424-4226. I love this booster so much. It is so easy to install and my kids chose this over the more expensive graco model because the seats were more cushiony. I just wish they made some in lighter swatches like ivory to beige.

Not stable, possible whiplash hazard

I want to love this booster because we are Chicco fans and this model was generously discounted but this product was a big disappointment. I'm still giving it 3 stars because of the light weight, easy assembly, and easy installation. Like other reviewers mentioned, the seat itself can't be made more stable, especially without a back tether. You have to anchor the bottom with your knee and pull on the strap at the same time, which only tightens so much. Another scary issue is that if they fall asleep while you're driving, the grown-up seatbelt might not secure them and they can fall over when you brake. So now I'm having to search for some sort of anchoring pillow that would prevent my child from getting whiplash (and getting hurt) while we're on the road. Ugh. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Also, my child (on the younger side) was unable to buckle the seatbelt easily and correctly (belt tucked under armrests) without my assistance. They can get out easily though. I'm not sure if it's because the armrest was in the way, so they had trouble seeing and matching the latch to the buckle. The irony is that we got this to make all our lives (relatives included) easier but it's just made things complicated; additionally, my child was able to easily strap in with their 5-point harness car seat but didn't have the strength to undo the bottom buckle. I guess we'll have to wait a bit to move up to the "big kid" status.

Love this seat! My son was using a backless booster and it was moving around way too much. We switched him to this one and it’s super easy to install!! I like the latch system. It doesn’t have those super annoying clips that are incredibly hard to take off, and you can tighten the latch by the strap at the bottom instead of pulling on either side. Fits well in my Highlander. My son says it’s “wayyyy more comfy” than his other boosters. And I like that the back is adjustable for height. Overall good choice.

I really like this booster seat. It feels sturdy and safe, and my child says it’s comfortable even on longer rides. The design is nice and doesn’t look bulky in the car, which I appreciate. It was also really easy to set up, no complicated steps. One thing I like is how easy it is to clean, especially with kids, that’s a must. The cup holders are a nice bonus too. Overall, it does exactly what I needed and I feel good using it every day. Definitely a good buy 👍

the strap for the latch is LONGER than the quick release strap attached at the same spots as the latch strap. so, when you go to attach the latch to the metal bar in your cars seat fold, the quick release strap is pulled tightly and triggers the release, while the latch strap itself is still loose, making it unable to latch because the quick release is triggered. does not work on a 2017 Toyota Camry. yes I've read the instruction manual, multiple times. this thing is junk, yes it can be used without the latch system, but I'm not doing that and I want everything to work if I'm paying for it. I don't pay for ineffective products.

Works great with Kia tellurides stupid recessed seatbelt clicker. Our Graco was way too wide but this one is just right for our son to click in and out by himself! It feels a little more flimsy than our big heavy other seat but seems fine.
