Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

    Why mess with perfection?

    Why would you change something that worked so well already?! It was the perfect fit for skinny kids. My son has worn these for years; now they don’t fit at all. Bring back the old style!

    Bring back the old fit!

    We've purchased Cat & Jack sweatpants for years because they were a slimmer style and fit our long and lean boys. Now that they've moved to relaxed fit, they are huge! They are so slouchy and wide legged. The old style/fit was perfect so please bring that back!

    They changed the style of these sweatpants. The bottoms are different and they are extremely baggy. They look horrible. I wouldn't purchase these again. I wish they had the older style because those were perfect!

He is usually a size small, but I think we should have sized down because of the relaxed fit. Even after tying the drawstring they were still loose. Length wise they were fine because of the elastic cuffs around the ankles. Liked that they have pockets and they are easy to pull on.

    Too baggy and wrinkly reinforced knees look awful

    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are huge fans of Cat &Jack sweats because the fabric is so durable compared to other affordable kids sweats. I've mostly stopped buying the pants though since they started adding reinforcements inside the knee area that wrinkle and show through the front of the pants in a very visible bumpy way after several washes, and these still have the reinforced knees. They are also a ridiculously baggy look at the legs, though the waist is not oversized and runs small like the old standard fit. My son wears size 6 clothes (46", 42 lbs) and is too small for most of the Cat & Jack size 7s but these do just about fit him at the waist in size small...but look ridiculously huge in the legs when we just want some basic sweats that will fit easily inside his snowpants every day at school.

    Too baggy!

    My son has been wearing these same joggers for 8 years- we order quite a few each school year. Target went and changed a great product that didn’t need changing. The “relaxed” fit is huge. Like not just a little baggy, they look sloppy and ridiculous. My son won’t wear them. These were a staple for him and now we’re off to find ones that fit better elsewhere. Target please change these back to the regular fit you’ve had for years!!!
