Directions

Shake well before and frequently during use. Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. Hold container 4 to 6 inches from the skin to apply. Do not spray directly into face. Spray on hands then apply to face. Do not apply in windy conditions. Use in a well-ventilated area and avoid inhalation. Reapply: After 80 minutes of swimming or sweating; immediately after towel drying; at least every 2 hours. Sun protection measures. Spending time in the sun increases your risk of skin cancer and early skin aging. To decrease this risk, regularly use a sunscreen with a Broad Spectrum SPF value of 15 or higher and other sun protection measures including: limit time in the sun, especially from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m; wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, hats, and sunglasses. Shake well before and during use.

Do not recommend

I have gotten burnt twice now when using this sunblock. It’s much more convenient and less greasy than the lotion, but does not work well (the lotion works great). First time I used this I was in the Caribbean and reapplied every 1.5 hours. Was so burnt after the first day, that it ruined the rest of my vacation. The second time I was on vacation in Florida and could feel myself burning within 40 minutes of applying. Thankfully I had a little bit of lotion left to use and have easier access to going to buy more than I did on my previous vacation. I applied a thick layer of spray (almost a whole can in 1-2 applications) and rubbed in well, let soak in for 30 minutes before going into the sun and still got burnt. Will not buy the spray anymore, only the lotion.

Blue Lizard SPF 50 Spray: Good Protection, Tricky Application

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first time trying Blue Lizard Sensitive Mineral SPF 50 Spray. Overall, it works well and I like that it provides good sun protection, but I found the application a little tricky. I wasn't quite sure at first how far away to hold the spray or what angle worked best. It leaves a noticeable white layer when you spray it, and my kids were a little scared of the white spray at first. out how to apply it evenly and comfortably. Maybe I just need more practice with this type of sunscreen, but overall, the main thing is that it does its job and protects well from the sun. So far, I'd say it's a good sunscreen, although the application could be a little easier.

White cast

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The white cast is so real, but the sun protection keeps my skin from burning even though I am very fair. There isn't much scent, it keeps you protected, but there will be a white hue to your skin for longer than any other sunscreen I have used. It does clean off well, but takes a little scrubbing.
